Coral reef habitat account for less than 0.1% of the global oceans, but plays host to near 1/3 all marine fish species. Here in the Cowman Lab group we try to understand how such a diverse fish and coral fauna has evolved on tropical reefs and how rate of lineage diversification and molecular evolution have varied through time and space. We are based at James Cook University in the Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies
